Ellen Friedrichs, MA, is a health and sexuality educator with extensive experience working with teens.
Experience:
Ellen spent four years as the HIV prevention coordinator for the Citizens Advice Bureau community center in the Bronx and and taught human sexuality at Rutgers Newark. During that time she also worked as the behind the scenes expert for Planned Parenthood's teenwire.com website where she answered hundreds of questions a week from teens about sexuality. Following this, she wrote the blog, the State of Sex education for the website, gURL.com
Today, Ellen is the Health Education Coordinator at a school in Brooklyn, where she works with students from 4th through 12th grade. She also teaches human sexuality at Brooklyn College.
Education:
Ellen received a BA in Women's Studies from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. She received a Masters Degree in Health & Human Sexuality Education from New York University. Ellen has New York State certification in HIV pre & post test counseling.
