A lesbian teen in a new relationship asks how long she should wait to have sex with her girlfriend, saying "I've been with my girlfriend for about a month and we've kissed, but not really anything else. I had sex with my ex but I think it was too soon and kind of messed things up between us. How long should I wait to go further now"?

There is a lot of variation among what people do. Some people have sex right away, others not for months or years and many teens decide that being sexually active is not right for them, even if they are dating someone seriously.

I'm waiting till marriage

My gf and I have been together for 1.5 years and have decided to wait till marriage. It's great it's legal in DC so we have that option if/when we're ready. I'm just 22 so I'm not rushing anything though! Everyone should wait till they're ready, whenever that is.

I think I'm the weirdest!

I'm 17, I've never had a gf (sadly xD) but if I had one, I'd wait AT LEAST a year! I just think that I need to really love her and get to know her reaaaalllly well and have a connection and all that and vice versa before having sex. Am I weird?

I'm thinking about this question as well. My girlfriend always says, "I want you..x" and says she loves me very much. I want to have sex with her but I also want to, well, want her as much as she obviously wants me. It sounds silly but I would like to wait at least six months, she understands. i think that if you feel ready to have sex with her and you both love each other and want it then, yeah go for it but if u dont feel ready then dont commit as it wouldn't be rite. hope i helped love ben

it may b to quick to have sex right away wait until ur for sure in love with th girl and she feels ready to sex dosent half to quick take ur time to decide

I think you need to be in love. because otherwise it doesn't meant as much. i never had a girlfriend before but i know thats what i want to do when i do/
