Readers Respond: Have You Ever Had an STD Test?

By , About.com Guide

Even though 1 in 4 people will contract an STD before they are 25, a lot of youth have never had an STD test. But getting tested for everything from HIV to chlamydia can be done! In fact, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender teens can can get STD tests a number of different ways, including through a family doctor, teen clinic or department of health. If you've been tested, let us know how that went, and if you haven't feel free to share your reasons for not doing so as well! Share Your Reasons

Worried!

I had oral sex with a boy a couple times. But the last time, he got something wrong with his mouth. I don't understand because that never happened to the other boys. I'm young, age 15 and don't want my mom to know what's been happening between me and other boys. Please help me!!!

Virgin

I'm a 17 yr. old MtF and have never even kissed a guy (or girl) and don't find it likely that I will allow myself to be in any romantic relationship until I'm 25 or so. Until then, I doubt I'll get tested, except the one that is necessary for SRS.

maybe if i was with a guy

i got an aids test once after i had sex with a guy (one time) by my regular doctor but now i have a girlfriend and shes never been with anyone before so its kind of different now. maybe if i was ever with a guy again which i doubt will happen i'd do it again.
