From the article: Straight
The word straight is a commonly used term for a heterosexual person. Some people prefer to write the word as str8. This is done both as a play on words and also as a critique of a term where the opposite would then be bent or crooked, which could be seen to imply that being GLBT was abnormal.
Of course, many people are perfectly comfortable with this term. How do you feel?
What Are Your Thoughtsi don't like it
- i think it would better if people did say hetero. straight just makes me think that anything else is weird.

Okay...
- I'm okay with the word. Lol. I find it to be less annoying than saying heterosexual all the time. Besides, nothing defines "normal" anymore in society. To me and people I know "normal" means being yourself in a manner that's healthy and safe. --A gay teen.

No Prob
- I don't see it as a problem. I mean, straight lines are boring, right? xD Be it curvy, wavy or zigzag, I think they're more interesting than straight lines, ja?

it doesn't bug me
- i use it and most of my friends do. i don't feel like i am saying anything bad about myself when i say that someone is straight and i'm bi. you can write str8 but you can't really say it so then are you supposed to say HETEROSEXUAL every time you talk about someone straight?
