Background:

Peaches is the stage name of Canadian electro-punk musician, Merrill Nisker.

Known both for her sexually and politically charged lyrics, and her ability to play with gender (for example appearing on an album cover with a full beard), Peaches now lives in Berlin.

Albums:

In addition to working with musicians like Pink, Bloc Party, Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, and Garbage, Peaches has contributed to movie sound tracks and released the albums:

  • The Teaches of Peaches (2000)
  • The Teaches of Peaches: Expanded(2002)
  • Fatherf**ker (2003)
  • Impeach My Bush (2006)
Peaches on Reactions to Her Music:

In an interview with The Age, Peaches said of her music:

"You know, some people find it really angry and sexual, while others find it really funny and sexual...Some people find it, you know, revolutionary, and some people find it really backward."

On Her Persona:

The British lesbian magazine Diva called Peaches, "the bisexual queen of dirty electro-cool."
