The Bottom Line

No doubt, the Midwest Teen Sex Show is funny. It is also borderline inappropriate. But as long as you aren't easily offended, and take what you are seeing as satire, then you'll probably get a kick out of these podcasts.

  • Very Funny
  • Discusses much needed issues
  • Speaks to teens

  • Not appropriate for younger teens
  • Might make your parents cringe

  • A humorous internet sketch show dealing with teen sex.
  • Created by a trio that includes a mother of three.
  • Currently twelve episodes are up. Check the site for new installations.
  • The Midwest Teen Sex Show is not your average sex ed. lesson!

Guide Review - Midwest Teen Sex Show Review

The Midwest Teen Sex Show, is a podcast, made up of skits, interviews and quirky factoids. It deals with sex and is geared towards older teens.

So far, twenty-five episodes have been created. These include:

  • Parents
  • Backdoor Business
  • Dating
  • Syphilis
  • Beatin' It
  • Homosexuality
  • Gym Class
  • The First Time
  • Birth Control
  • The Older Boyfriend
  • Abstinence
  • Female Masturbation
  • Prom

The Midwest Teen Sex Show uses humor and pushes boundaries to address subjects which are often considered taboo.

It also admits that is is not solely educational. As the creators explain on their site:

"We like to call it sex information. We’ll leave the formal education to classrooms and textbooks. Midwest Teen Sex Show is here to provide sex information in a clear and entertaining way. We won’t pretend to be experts, but hopefully a few of our own embarrassing experiences and insights will keep you out of trouble."

Some installations work really well, for example the very first episode, Female Masturbation.

The Older Boyfriend, on the other hand, loses its message when the jokes move from edgy to mean.

You should also be prepared for some gay stereotypes that you may or may not find funny (for example the lesbian gym teacher in the Gym Class episode). That being said, I really liked the Homosexuality episode and its interview with a young gay man named Scott.
