From Sage, a 15-year-old Christian from Wisconsin:

It will be one year since I came out on the 18th. My family just had to warm up to the idea. The first thing my mom said was, "Now we don't have to worry about you getting pregnant as a teen," and my dad said he was happy he didn't have to beat up any boys, and my sisters are cool too. My older one gives the girlfriends the talk about not hurting me or she will hurt them and if they [bad] talk me if we get in a fight and she hears it..wow!

My family is cool with it, but they just don't understand that it's a huge deal to me. Coming out was a major thing for me.
