A really common question from gay teens is, "How can I tell if someone likes me?"
The only way to really know is to ask!

ok so there's this guy from my school who i'm starting to fall for...One day he smiled at me really big at the grocery store which really caught my attention and started to make me wonder if he's gay too. throughout the semester i noticed that he would lift weights next to me but idk if its just coincidence.
Sometimes signs like these are indeed signs that someone is interested in you. Other times, they are just a sign that someone is being friendly. And because there are fewer "rules" for same sex relationships, than there are for opposite sex reltionships, figuring out what's going on can be extra confusing.
Knowing if someone is or isn't gay can help give you a little more insight. However, if signs are really ambiguous, and could mean a number of things, then you might just have to take a deep breath and make the first move.
Of course, this opens you up to a number of possibilities. It could go really well. Or it could become awkward (or worse).
So before you decide what to do, it would be wise to think about how you would feel if things didn't go as you had hoped.
That being said, plenty of great gay relationships happened because someone decided that being upfront was a risk worth taking!
