Here's a question that was posted to the forum: "I've always considered myself straight until a few months ago when I met a girl at school, she's a lesbian, and every time I see her my heart races and my palms sweat. I feel like I have a serious crush on her, but I don't think she's ever thought of me that way because I've always had a boyfriend and even had sex with one of them (the whole school knew about that). How do I know if it's serious? Should I even tell her? Do lesbians ever notice straight girls?"
Some lesbians will consider dating a girl who calls herself straight and not worry about labels. However, others will be wary and wonder if dating someone who is straight is just setting them up for heartbreak. A lesbian girl may not want to be simply part of someone's experimentation. She may also worry that a straight girl is just looking for sex and isn't interested in her on another level.
You might also want to consider that you might actually be bisexual.
Ultimately, though, if a a person of any sexual orientation is interested in someone else, the best way to find out if the feelings are mutual is to ask. Telling someone you like them, and asking if they feel the same can be pretty scary. But in the end, doing so is a lot better than guessing!
Got any experiences either as a straight girl or guy with a same sex crush, or as a lesbian or gay guy who was crushed on by someone straight that you'd live to share? You can do that here!
