A study out of UCLA has determined that high-risk children adopted from foster care do just as well when they are gay, lesbian or heterosexual parents.

According to Letitia Anne Peplau, a professor of psychology at UCLA and a co-author of the study, "The children adopted by gay and lesbian parents had more challenges before they were adopted and yet they end up in the same place, which is impressive."

The study comes at a time when the demand for foster parents is incredibly high, yet there are still people who oppose allowing gay men and women to foster or adopt.
