Minnesota Teen Challenge, a program that claims it can cure teens of substance use through evangelical Christianity, is seeking $500,000 in government funding.
Unfortunately, this program doesn't seek to simply eradicate drug use and as the website Gay Agenda reports,
The Official Teen Challenge Student Handbook instructs students to “conduct themselves in a manner pleasing to God” and strictly forbids any “homosexual behavior”, as being gay, along with addiction, is a sin.
Unfortunately, organizations like this, often do receive government funding to promote hostile and damaging ideas. But for a variety of reasons--including the organization's methods--there has been some outcry over this particular group. So it will be interesting to see what transpires and if the funding actually comes through!

Being gay is against God and against the Bible. There are absolutely plenty of places in the Bible that will show that, and prove that, and I can prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt with copious amounts of Scripture. Homosexuality is wrong, God is against it, and so am I!

Well friend, the only document in history that talks about the separation of church and state is a letter from Thomas Jefferson expressing an interest in keeping church and state separate for, here’s the clincher, for the benefit of the CHURCH, not for the benefit of the Government. There is truth, and that truth is the Bible. Truth is not relative, but absolute. In fact, truth is personified in Jesus Christ, who is the Truth. So, when you tote “Separation of Church and State” maybe you should know what you’re talking about instead of just repeating things that you hear. Michie, you may think that we should have the church and state together. However, the second Islam begins to take a hold in America you will be the first to declare that there is a separation of church and state. I am a Christian and I believe this. Also, I believe that there is a strong biblical case for homosexuality not being a sin. Don’t close your eyes when the truth is right in front of you.

God did not write the Bible. The Bible was written by men, and men have their faults. Even men specifically chosen by God for a purpose have failed him. Who is to say that the scribes of the sacred chapters were any different? It is very easy to misinterpret God’s commands, especially when hearing His word through a filter of one’s own ideals and visions of a better world. Just as a child can convince itself that a parent has said something they have not, a man can convince himself that God meant something that he did not. In fact, man can convince himself that God has spoken when indeed he has not. The Bible is made of the ideals of men that died centuries ago, and you would have THEIR word? THEY, who deny nature itself, everything the God has given us to prove he loves us and wants us to prosper? What further proof do you need than the power of Nature to turn a small black seed into a towering mammoth of creation that God has no need of such arbitrary tools as language to express himself? By condemning those who believe differently from yourself, you are sinning worse than they are. For they were born the way they are, and you are choosing to condemn them. “Idle hands are the Devil’s tools.” Should people be condemned for being retarded? For either partial or total paralysis? Should they be thrown to the lions because they are unable to carry out some portion of “God’s word”? Should a child abused by her father be condemned for not “honoring” him? I’m a Neuroscientist and a Christian. Homosexuality is not a choice, there are specific nuclei in the brain that relate to sexual preference and gender based behavior. These areas are the size they are based on epigenetic gene expression. Homosexuals have nuclei that look very similar to their opposite sex. I’m a Christian, but I don’t my spirituality cripple my intelligence. Many people interpret the bible as suggesting homosexuality is wrong, but it never declares this directly, it’s only ignorant interpretation.
