Prop 8: The Musical
Prop 8, California's gay marriage ban, was pretty upsetting for a lot of people--including a lot of celebrities. Both before and after the ban passed everyone from Sean Penn to America Fererra, Madonna and Christina Aguilera spoke out in favor of gay marriage and against Prop 8.
Today, a whole new cast of celebrities, have let the world know their views through a viral video called Prop 8: The Musical.
Starring actors like John C. Reilly, Neil Patrick Harris, Maya Rudolph, and Jack Black, the video parodies a traditional musical and challenges the religious arguments against gay marriage.
At one point, Jack Black (playing Jesus) reminds a groups of Christians that if they are going to use a Biblical passages to justify anti-gay discrimination, they might as well write off ever eating shrimp again and take up stoning people for adultery. As he sings, "Well, friend, it seems to me you pick and choose, so please choose love instead of hate. Besides your nation was built on separtion of church and state."
Check it out when you get a chance and let me know what you think!

I’m gay and I liked it but I didn’t like the fact that they made this a religious issue. Yes many people who supported Prop 8 were religious, but some voted against it because it would lead to hate crimes and limit what churches and other religions can say about homosexuality. Where’s the separation of church and state??? If Prop 8 were not passed it would lead to some unconstitutional actions.
