Gay Teens on Gay Marriage
The recent decision by California to legalize same sex marriage has been on a lot of people's minds, but one voice that hasn't been heard as much is that of teens. The newspaper, LA Youth asked local teens what they thought of the decision.
Most answers were positive and supportive. For example, 16-year-old Nadine said:
"I think it’s amazing that gay marriage was legalized because it’s the start of a revolution, a new era. I hope that it will be legalized nationally because every human, gay or straight, deserves every human right, including marriage."There were inevitably a few negative comments as well, but at least in this forum, those were the minority.
I'd love to hear what you think about the decision and what you've heard from other teens you know!

I think it’s such an important step forward for the LGBT community. I was super excited when I heard about it! I hope it is legalized nationally, too. The ability to marry the woman I love is simple, but extremely important to me.
This is also a great step forward with respect to anti-discrimination laws that protect LGBT’s. I believe that they move forward, and backward, together. With each state giving more and more rights, it will hopefully spread throughout the states and throughout all laws.
