Boy Scouts in Philly Lose Their Lease

It finally happened. The Boy Scouts in Philadelphia lost their lease to the municipal building that they have used rent-free since the 1920’s.

The reason? Their exclusionary policy towards gay scouts which the city of Philadelphia felt it could no longer enable.

The New York Times quoted the national spokesman for the Boy Scouts who explained the Scouts’ rationale. “Since we were founded, we believe that open homosexuality would be inconsistent with the values that we want to communicate with our leaders.”
