GLBT Myth or Fact Quiz

Answer a few questions and see if you can tell truth from fiction...

1. Gay men secretly want to be women and lesbians secretly want to be men.
  • Fact. This is why lesbians act masculine and gay men act feminine.
  • Myth. Gay men and lesbians are not trying to change their genders.
2. All Christians agree that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah condemns homosexuality as a sin.
  • Fact. This story explicitly states that being gay is wrong and sinful.
  • Myth. Many people interpret this story as condemning rape, not being gay.
3. Gay men are not the fastest growing group to contract HIV.
  • Fact. Straight women are the fastest growing group to contract HIV.
  • Myth. Gay men have always been the fastest growing group to contract HIV.
4. If a gay person really wanted to be straight, he or she could.
  • Fact. With appropriate therapy, gay people can be straight.
  • Myth. Though people may change their behavior, there is no evidence that sexual orientation can be changed.
5. Many animals exhibit homosexuality.
  • Fact. Homosexual behavior has been observed in over 1000 animal species.
  • Myth. Only humans demonstrate same-gender tendencies.

I think your idea is a wonderful one, but i have a suggestion. Instead of listing the myth with the word fact next to it and the fact with the word next to it, maybe it would be better to do away with those. At first glance it looks as though you’re saying it is fact or myth.
